BREWERY TOUR WITH BEER TASTING

Find out how real craft beers, abbey beers and gourmet beers are created and taste our barrel-aged Grand Crus specialties from the barrique cellar!

The world of brewing

Find out how real craft beers, abbey beers and gourmet beers are made in our small brewery in the courtyard of the Fischingen Benedictine monastery. Hear the history of our brewery and find out what the monks and beer brewing are all about. Take a look at our storage, technology and brewing room with the two copper pans. Smell hop pellets and taste what malt grains taste like. Let yourself be initiated into the secrets of mashing and fermentation and find out what the old barrique barrels and the exclusive PILGRIM Grand Crus are all about.

Program for individuals and groups

In the 300-year-old monastery cellar we show you our video (6 minutes, in D or E) before we serve you 6-8 samples of our craft beers, Bière d'Abbaye 10% and Grand Crus 14% and explain the different beer styles. Our brewers, master brewers, beer sommeliers or the boss himself will accompany you on your little journey through the big world of beer. After the tour there is an opportunity to shop in the brewery shop.

View into the barrique cellar for groups

With a “monastery guide” you take a look into the brewery’s brewing room and visit the barrique cellar. There you can taste our Grand Cru from the barrique barrel.

Our PILGRIM video tells you the history and production of our beer specialties. Thanks to the small sample, you will experience the special character of the Grand Crus specialties matured in wooden barrels.

This little experience is perfect as a follow-up program to a monastery tour or before the brewmaster aperitif in the monastery restaurant.
